Recently, Engadget had the opportunity to try out the new Era 300 speaker. Compared to the cheaper Era 100 model, the Era 300 is much louder. However, the major difference lies in its ability to reproduce spatial audio. Despite being a single device with multiple speakers, it is capable of filling a room with sound, creating a similar effect to more complex setups. At launch, it will only support the spatial audio service offered by Amazon Music Unlimited. Unfortunately, Apple users will need to use Sonos’ official hardware. The Era 300 can be pre-ordered on the Sonos website for $449 and is expected to ship on March 28th.
